DAILY CHABAD … Cosmic Marriage

CoolPhotos (936)

From the moment that they were sundered apart, the earth has craved to reunite with heaven; physical with spiritual, body with soul, the life that breathes within us with the transcendental that lies beyond life, beyond being.

And yet more so does the Infinite Light yearn to find itself within that world, that pulse of life, within finite, earthly existence. There, more than any spiritual world, is the place of G‑d’s delight.

Towards this ultimate union, all of history flows, all living things crave, all of human activities are subliminally directed. When it will finally occur, it will be the quintessence of every marriage that has ever occurred.

May it be soon in our times, sooner than we can imagine.

“Every Sensation Comes to an End”, by J. Krishnamurti

STOP WISHING.I wonder if you know what it means to be aware of something? Most of us are not aware because we have become so accustomed to condemning, judging, evaluating, identifying, choosing. Choice obviously prevents awareness because choice is always made as a result of conflict. To be aware … just to see it, to be aware of it all without any sense of judgment.

Just be aware, that is all what you have to do, without condemning, without forcing, without trying to change what you are aware of. If you are aware choicelessly, the whole field of consciousness begins to unfold. So you begin with the outer and move inwardly. Then you will find, when you move inwardly that the inward and the outward are not two different things, that the outward awareness is not different from the inward awareness, and that they are both the same.

Everything about us, within as well as without — our relationships, our thoughts, our feelings — is impermanent, in a constant state of flux. But is there anything which is permanent? Is there? Our constant desire is to make sensation permanent, is it not? Sensation can be found again and again, for it is ever being lost. Being bored with a particular sensation, I seek new sensation. Every sensation comes to an end, and so we proceed from one sensation to another and every sensation strengthens the habit of seeking further sensation. My mind is always experiencing in terms of sensation. There is perception, contact, sensation and desire and the mind becomes the mechanical instrument of all this process. With the arising of sensation comes the urge to possess; and so begins the turmoil of desire. And the habit of seeking further sensation.

And is there an end to sorrow? Is it possible to live a daily life with death, which is the ending of the self? There is only one fact — impermanence: every sensation comes to an end. Can the mind, the brain remain absolutely with that feeling of suffering and nothing else? There is no movement away from that moment, that thing called suffering. Is there an action in which there is no motive; no cause — the self does not enter into it at all? Thought identifies itself with that sensation and through identification the ‘I’ is built up. Identification with sensation makes the self. If there is no identification; is there a self?

So is it possible not to identify with sensation? So we are asking, is there a holistic awareness of all the senses? Just be aware … effortless observation … choiceless observation … and to learn, to find out whether it is possible to allow sensation to flower and not let thought interfere with it — to keep them apart. Will you do it?

===========

DISCUSSION:

What do you understand from “outward awareness is not different from the inward awareness?”

Can you share a story of a time that you were aware “choicelessly”?

How can we develop the ability to be “aware of it all without any sense of judgment”?

#9  Xiao Chu  ~  The Small Accumulating

Above:     Sun                root, foundation, nourishing
Below :    Quin/Ganh     heaven, energy, spirit, power

The Wisdom:

You are entering a time of great potential
Heaven awaits the lightening
Lighting beckons thunder;
You are the thunder

Progress has been good, yet completion is elusive. Frustration will take your power and the goal will slip further away. Be confident, and you will find completion is not your aim. The benefit is to focus on the present moment.

As you proceed on this road less traveled, you inevitably come up against the obstacles of guilt, shame, and judgment. At this moment in time, these obstacles are showing at precisely the right time. Your inner strength, wrought by hard work and suffering is at its zenith and is like a finely honed and sharpened sword. Raise the sword and cut away at the ties that bind you to old patterns and empty relationships, both personally and in commerce. In this moment be the skilled warrior who knows that a sword this sharp is the sword with two edges; on one side it can cut through a lifetime of ill-fated patterns, while on the other side, if you do not come to battle with pure intent, this sword has the potential to slice away at your resolve and leave you powerless, able to go no further.

Your true power now lies in the beauty of graceful, small and well thought-out movements. Proceed slowly and with a well-planned strategy. Meet the obstacle head on; reach inward to reveal your shadow, the self of darkness. Make the darkness useful as you reach in stillness to your authenticity, that of light and dark, yin and yang.

In this life journey, we suppress our dark side, what Jung called the shadow. In this shadow you will find some pretty ugly old stuff: disappointment, guilt, abandonment and shame. It is from this dark, shadowy, potentially troubling unknown that negative patterns and self-doubt arise. Mostly, this shadow side is denied and projected onto others, our partners, friends, and associates, but if we dare, we can know our shadow, and therein lies our liberation from all the fear and the key to activating our intentions. But be fully aware that you are dancing with the dark side and if your intent is not aimed to work for the greater good of all, you will find yourself exposed as you move into the light and you will be derailed as you come into the light. Meet your dark side head on in the full light of your love, acceptance, and compassion, and it crumbles. And in its place is a stronger, lighter you, a more sustainable you, who will be loved and able to receive the love and abundance you have desired.

Operating without being aware of the truth of your dark side is folly. All things contain both light and dark, yin and yang. If you are too sunny, you will not have influence or be trusted. If you allow yourself to operate from negativity, you will allow fear free reign, and what you really want in your heart of hearts will not come to fruition, as you will have been your own worst enemy.

This is not the time to expect perfection. Be the light, but not too light; be dark, but not too dark. Aim for balance without grasping onto outcomes. If reading this makes you smile and shudder at the same time, it is your truth.

Act with small movements, including minimal verbal flourishes; in this way you will hold in place the peace you have wanted and deserved, and you will have success in small measure. This is good enough for now—the power of the small.

Completion is near;
Gather your inner resources;
You will need to reach into the darkness;
What you find there will be very useful;
No blame, no fear.

When nearing a goal of completion there is the tendency to want to rest, to take a break. This is not yet the time; there are a number of small tasks to be addressed at this juncture.

Set ambition aside for now and attend to the small details, so that your path, your vision, will be clear. You will then be able to dip into the subconscious and bring to light the negative beliefs about yourself and the world that have been blocking you. What you find as you delve into the shadow may feel shocking, like a big dark monster; but know that the monster, in reality, is really quite tiny, like a little toy monster; it cannot really harm you or stop you on your path to love, health, and abundance.

Do not reach for a conclusion.
Now is not the time.
Tie up loose ends,
End what must be ended,
Tend to what must be mended.

Moving forward does not always make for real progress. At times like these, progress will be made by going inward rather than forward, paying attention to the smallest things, things that might not seem to be relevant to your goal for your own and the greater good.

Your mind must be clear of any chaos, doubts, or fears. At this time, hone your skills and make strong your commitment, not to completion, but to living in a better way, in the way of your truth.

Look to your relationships and address the small things that have held you back from loving fully or letting yourself to be loved. Ask for what you know you deserve. This will bring clarity, and you will know what to do.

When it comes to your projects, family, or health, deal with the small matters; vow to remain authentic and have honest, open communication with all those in your life. By dealing with small details, you can remove the obstacles that have blocked your path to wellness, true love, abundance, or spiritual evolution.

Completion is near. These last few steps will only be bridged by cleaning up the things you have left unattended. Clean up your desk, straighten the closets, clean out your car if you have one, balance your accounts, lighten your load. Give some of your “stuff” away, literally and metaphorically. These seemingly small gestures will pave the way toward what you want and deserve.

It seems that taking care of the little details should be the simplest of tasks, yet we often get blocked from doing so. This is where the inner work begins. Take the time to look deeply into your thoughts about yourself; be real about where you doubt yourself in your work, your relationship, and your spiritual practice. Acknowledge what you truly want and deserve.

Now, to attain what you want, you must go inside and clean up the inner recesses of your mind. Look unabashedly at your dark side, and don’t allow shame or guilt to cause you to avert your gaze. We all have a dark side, a shadow self. There are hidden resources and strengths in these recesses of the subconscious. Look at what you are ashamed of and forgive yourself. In this way you will retrieve your authenticity, which has been obscured by the dark. Don’t be afraid—it is nowhere near as bad or dangerous as your ego wants you to think it is.

This is where you are found: wanting to survive, wanting to be fully loved and to be able to love freely, but are blocked. It is only by looking deep into the shadow side, examining what you fear and are ashamed of, that you will find liberation. Then, after   a light is cast on these small, shadowy things still lurking in the hidden recesses, you will to able to joyfully reach your destination of wellness, peace, love, and abundance in proper measure.

Being diligent about your meditation practice or developing one is of great importance now. Don’t be afraid to hold the energy back and give yourself some moments of quietude and inner spaciousness. In this vast place within yourself is a universe of possibilities, where you will again fall in love… with life and your own authenticity. Here you can feel the tribal unity of all struggling beings and you will feel the heart of compassion. Don’t worry, your guardian angels and guides have your back. You are safe. Just do the work. It will make you smile and shine like the sun at midday.

With Love,
I am the other you,

BobbyK

JUST FOR TODAY ….

EVENING MEDITATION (30 mins.) ~ Just for Today … If we are a global village, everything you do affects others. This week notice how your dreams and actions affect other people. You can bring light if you choose to.

Stories about the human colonization of other worlds were popular in the 1950s, with a promise of material abundance, and much of the population of the Western world excited about the possibilities offered by new technologies and a beneficial, authoritative science. That humans could extend their reach to other worlds seemed inevitable progress. Today, the popular faith in science and technology has drained away, to be replaced by a widespread, if often unspoken, fear. We have opened the box and seen where our ambition leads, and though we might quickly close it again and look away, it is too late in the day for any kind of innocence. We must move past the delusions of society.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.”  ~ The Buddha

Recipe ~ Double Chocolate Nutella Toffee Skillet Brownies

Nutella Skillet Brownies
Yield: 1 10″ Brownie
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes
Total Time: 40 Minutes

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Butter, melted and cooled
3/4 cup Nutella, or chocolate hazelnut spread
1/2 cup Brown Sugar or Coconut Sugar
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
2 cups Flour
2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Toffee Pieces, like Heath Bits o’ Toffee

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl with a whisk or spatula, butter, Nutella, brown and white sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in the flour, salt and baking soda until a batter forms.
Stir in 3/4 of the chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of the toffee pieces.
Spoon the batter into a oven proof skillet, cast iron or stainless steel that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Even the batter out and press to within 1/2″ of the edges of the skillet – the brownie will spread out, but leave the room between the batter and the sides of the skillet so the edges don’t over cook.
Top with remaining chocolate chips and toffee bits. Place in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set and a toothpick placed in the middle of the brownie comes out clean.
Let the brownie cool on a wire rack in the skillet until just warm – about 45 minutes. It will still be very soft in the middle, but as it cools, the brownie will set entirely.
Drizzle with additional softened Nutella if desired, or ice cream!

Recipe ~ Vegan Macaroni & Cheese

vegan mac cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup earth balance vegan butter (or regular butter)
  • 1/4 cup flour, I used spelt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • squeeze of lemon
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast (not regular baking yeast)
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1/4 to 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (to taste), plus a little more on top
  • 8-12 oz elbow pasta, I used this brown rice brand
  • 1 to 1-2 cups pasta water, use a little at a time
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • salt & pepper
crusty topping:
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped pine nuts
  • pinch of cayenne & smoked paprika
  • drizzle of olive oil on top before baking
  • salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a medium pot over medium heat. Add onions, a few pinches of salt, and simmer until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add flour and whisk to thicken. Add garlic and cook for a few more minutes on medium-low.
  2. Add a good squeeze of lemon and stir to make sure nothing is sticking to the bottom of the pan. Add coconut milk, nutritional yeast, mustard, tomato paste, turmeric, paprika, and a few more pinches of salt. Let simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cook your pasta.
  3. Optional step – vitamix the sauce together to make the sauce really creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust seasonings. In a large bowl stir together the cooked pasta, some of the sauce, and peas. Stir in pasta water as needed to thin the sauce. You can stop here and serve this now if you like, or continue on to bake it.
  5. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place everything in a baking dish, add more pasta water and possibly more sauce. This will dry out a little while baking so make sure it’s really creamy first. Add the breadcrumbs, panko, a little more salt, cayenne, and paprika on top. Drizzle with a little bit of olive oil and bake for 8-10 minutes, just until the crust starts to become golden brown. Serve with extra sauce.

a few pinches of cane sugar and salt

Instructions

For the pickled onions: (make in advance) pickle your onions by shaking all ingredients together in a jar. Chill until for at least an hour, or up to days (or weeks, really) in advance.

Slice cherry tomatoes and toss them with a splash of olive oil, a splash of sherry vinegar, salt, pepper.

Drizzle olive oil on your stale bread and toast (or grill) it until golden. While it’s still warm, rub it with a sliced clove of garlic, then slice it into bite sized pieces.

De-seed and slice your peppers into thick strips. Sautée them in a pan with olive oil until soft and lightly blistered. (you could also do this on a grill). Remove from heat, drizzle with a little sherry vinegar and a pinch of paprika.

Toss all salad ingredients together so that the juices from the tomatoes and the peppers create a light dressing. Drizzle with a little more olive oil. Taste, and add more salt and pepper to your liking. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes or so for the bread to soak up the juices. Serve at room temp.

Notes

Instead of pickled onions, you can also cook onions with your peppers. Use a yellow onion instead of a red one.

Vegan option:  skip the cheese

Yield: serves 3-4 as a side

Resonance/Cymatics ~ The Six Tones of Creation

Sleep or meditate with these frequencies playing.  These Solfeggio frequencies make up the sacred Solfeggio scale:

UT — 396 Hz
Intent: turning grief into joy, liberating guilt & fear

This frequency liberates the energy and has beneficial effects on feelings of guilt. It cleanses the feeling of guilt, which often represents one of the basic obstacles to realization, enabling achievement of goals in the most direct way. The ‘Ut’ tone releases you from the feeling of guilt and fear by bringing down the defense mechanisms. 396 Hz frequency searches out hidden blockages, subconscious negative beliefs, and ideas that have led to your present situations.

RE — 417 Hz
Intent: undoing situations and facilitating change

The next main tone from the Solfeggio scale produces energy to bring about change. This frequency cleanses traumatic experiences and clears destructive influences of past events. When speaking of cellular processes, tone ‘Re’ encourages the cell and its functions in an optimal way. 417 Hz frequency puts you in touch with an inexhaustible source of energy that allows you to change your life.

MI — 528 Hz

Tone ‘Mi’ is used to return human DNA to its original, perfect state. This frequency brings transformation and miracles into your life. The process of DNA reparation is followed by beneficial effects — increased amount of life energy, clarity of mind, awareness, awakened or activated creativity, ecstatic states like deep inner peace, dance and celebration. Tone ‘Mi’ activates your imagination, intention and intuition to operate for your highest and best purpose.

When talking about cellular processes, 639 Hz frequency can be used to encourage the cell to communicate with its environment. This ancient Solfeggio frequency enhances communication, understanding, tolerance and love.

SOL — 741 Hz
Intent: solving problems, expressions/solutions

It cleans the cell (“Solve polluti”) from the toxins. Frequent use of 741 Hz leads to a healthier, simpler life, and also to changes in diet towards foods which are not poisoned by various kinds of toxins. Tone ‘Sol’ cleans the cell from different kinds of electromagnetic radiations. Another application of this sound frequency is solving problems of any nature. The fifth frequency of the Solfeggio scale will also lead you into the power of self-expression, which results in a pure and stable life.
